Both of them seemed really light, and the steering was very very light. Almost no resistance at all, and very little feel through the steering wheel. Then when I got back into my own car it felt so heavy. Much more muscle required to turn the wheel.
I guess the X5 is a much heavier car and is bound to feel like that. But I guess I'm just checking to be sure there's nothing wrong with it. Does it make sense that it would feel so much heavier than the two rental cars ?

Funny you say that.. my friend has an escape.. drove it and thought, damn this steering is light--my dads F250 super duty truck is the same way. its just design really. If you go drive a 3.0i you'll feel even heavier steering.
I wouldnt be worried..
