Not sure what you were looking for. You determined that the alternator is charging (14.1 v). If you had load tested the battery as suggested above you could have determined if it was healthy. It would also tell you what your alternator is putting out in terms of amps.

PS: A search for the phrase "battery light" gave me 500 threads. Lots of ideas there.
