I have a 2001 X5 3.0i with the front vents not working - rear ones OK. I replaced the Final Stage Resistor back in 2007 once already, and when the same symptom happened again, I went ahead and got a replacement thinking it was the same problem.

However, the new FSR didn't solve the problem. Front vents still not working, rear ones blowing. The connector should be connected correctly- the unit gets extremely hot after I power on the car and attempt to turn on the fan system. Could it be a defective unit, or is there something else I need to look at?
