Oh yes, I've used the X3 numerous times just to "get away" and go for brilliant drives in the Blue Ridge while I was at UVA. I tend to go on weekend day trips every weekend to see more of my surroundings. The reliable X3 pulls thru regardless of weather and the sonorous inline-6, though slow, sounds brilliant and I love the feel through corners. Many good memories while in college.
Unfortunately, now there are few good roads in the Piedmont of NC because they're all straight. Combined with my increased focus on reducing fuel consumption and emissions (environmentally friendly) and the necessity to drive everywhere to run tedious errands here, I don't get quite as much joy out of driving as I used to. I rarely go on "fun" drives now. But life's full of sacrifices I guess........
