What worked for me was cleaning the pigtail or pin connector with some crc electronics cleaner a few times... The wire side & pin side... Then I put a little hot glue on the wire side of the connection to seal off any moisture... Also I can't remember if there is a rubber seal on the inside of the pin side of the connection... If there is make sure that it is intact...
