That actually doesn't sounds like a bad deal. Assuming there are no issues with it when you arrive, I would jump on it. Of course you should try and work a couple of grand off of it, but overall, it's worth considering. I would use the fact that you're from out of state to do your negotiating over the phone and email. But whatever you do, make sure to get the sales manager's written approval on the final price before you head down there to pick it up.

As for the taxes, you pay them at the time of registration. The dealer should give you a 30-day tag, and then you'll pay your taxes where you register and operate your vehicle.
