I'd call the local dealer service dept in AZ and give them VIN and see what it's (short) history is. If it was purchased from one of the several dealers it shouldn't be hard to find out about it...or run a carfax and find out where it was purchased and call that dealer if not in AZ.

When I bought my 2004 X5 out of state I had the BMW dealer in Texas do a pre-inspection for like $225 or something like that; it was peace of mind before I made the purchase. I had mine shipped and didn't see it in person, and I got lucky because it was pristine when it arrived in it's single car enclosed trailer to my doorstep. But just perform some diligence to know it's history and since it has a warranty and barring no accidents it could be a good buy.
