^ trying to read the official doc is exactly what I was getting at as you can see when I found it (see below). But earlier you stated comparing them is a bad idea. So... what are we left with exactly if I'm trying to do my own research? Don't? Also don't forget I'm getting 2 extra years with WD, which is equally important.
BTW, JCL, the one you linked is the one I was looking at. I'm not sure how I ended up linking to the GAP policy. Sorry for the confusion. One thing I wanted to mention, part of a hypothetical - the repair kit may be cheap for that issue, but wouldn't labor be a part of the cost I'd be absorbing myself? And to begin with, I wasn't sure what the issue was so I'd be bringing it in anyway and wouldn't know whether I'd be out labor charges plus whatever's not covered...
Now look at this and find the part about wear & tear [on wiring] not being covered...
https://www.warrantydirect.com/LuxuryCare.aspx - I can't. It only mentions maintenance stuff like plugs, belts, & hoses not being covered as far as those go. It does say this though: Virtually any mechanical breakdown or problem related to normal wear and tear of your vehicle is covered by LuxuryCare+.
Understood that the claims process is a potential difference, but the BMW plan is a crapshoot to me too.
