IMO
this can happen to anyone's kids as they're playing in the neighborhood. So many kids on my block, I have to double check my rear sides, PLUS, DO RELY on the PDC cam/tone for my rear blindspot because let's face it, you can't see short-stacks directly behind you in this vehicle. I know where my kids are (either in the car with me or inside)... but without PDC, never sure if there's absolutely nobody else behind me.

Convenience + re-assurance. Use only the cam for backing up? Of course not, but it's still very important in this vehicle.
