P0198 - Oil Temp Sensor Circuit High

2001 X5 3.0 with 133k (owned since 10/04 with 42k)

Just got a P0198 (Oil Temp Sensor Circuit High) the other day, cleared it, and it came back on a few days later. The car runs fine, nothing abnormal; put almost 500 miles on it since. I plan on changing out the sensor (13621433076), but probably going to wait until I change the oil in a few months from now, as I believe it'll have to drain some anyway.

Just wanted to post to see if anyone else's recent experience with this or a similar code. Doesn't seem to be much on the forum, beyond a frayed wire.

I'll post back after I resolve it.

BTW, I noticed a bit of oil on my skid plate, but the level isn't dropping. Oil separator has never been swapped out on this car either.
