Shocking, but it looks like a 'cat back' system- ie doesnt interfere with the SCR Catalyst system....

I can be a prick and have an attitude, and I will readily admit when I am wrong.... any exhaust legal in the US will NOT interfere with the DEF. Your blanket assertion 'changing a diesel exhaust' will interfere with the DEF -simply because there is DEF injection 'into the exhaust'- is wrong. Injection occurs in the SCR cat just behind the engine....It MAY, but that would be an extreme case, and in fact there is no such system I've seen for an X5. MOST 'exhausts' will be just the rear muffler... same as gas.
