Well for my condo in SF it has a gated underground parking garage I would have to run a really long extension cord and wouldn't really feel right running up the associations power bill.
I keep the car in Tahoe at my parents house in their driveway for the summer where in doesn't get much use either. So extension cords would be a bitch there too not to mention unsightly - I'm sure my mom wouldn't go for that.
I like having it all safe contained. Also the battery is conserved with less drain so it should last stronger and longer. Also I like the added level of security it provides, gives me the warm and fuzzies.
