Forgive me for sounding stupid, but why would you want to stray from the oem, if your not willing to pay for an upgrade stereo system that is at least put together by a knowledgeable car stereo house? My feeling is maybe stay with the higher quality oem. Just my opinion. I have gone the route with different cars going half way on a stereo system, believing I was getting an upgrade only to find features were missing and was never happy with the results.

I have checked with the high end car stereo place near me and he said unless I'm spending $1500 or more plus installation to stay with oem.
