Ripp nice. I changed the fuel filter a while ago on my Lexus GS430. Then other people joined in, and one guy cut up both the new and the old filters. Old filter had 100k, new filter was new. So the old filter looked like yours above. Nasty. New filter looks like a brand new paper filter. Super clean.

I would say, these filters should not be lifetime.
