OK,

You need to mod the D for the alert (use navspeak).

so:

D = alert (modded)
E = rename an unmodded copy of D to E.
Fre = leave alone.

Mod the text to have

Alert on/off

D = on
E (now copied/unmodded D) = off
Fre = blank (no text).
