My climate control issue is finally resolved and thought I'd update this thread... again. The climate control working after the fsr replacements were coincidental. After going through a couple more fsr's, I took the car to a specialist and he found bad (damaged) wiring behind the glove box area. I'm not sure how this happens but just another thing to check before changing your climate control module and/or fsr.
