No need to remove trans to diagnose TC chain issue. If the 2 shops you went to knew anything about troubleshooting the TC, they would have drained the TC and checked for chain slack by inserting a flat blade screwdriver into the drain plug hole and pulled the chain away from the lower sprocket set.
