My woes continue... Really, it's so embarassing to jump in the car in a crowded parking lot and experience this failure. Last night at the local cinema the re-start failure popped up again. The show had just let out and there were people all over the place. I noticed a few of them checking out my ride as I approached and got in. Sure enough, craaaaaank. craaaaaank. I got it fired up using the method in my prevous post on the 3rd try.
Well, I bit the bullet this morning and scheduled my X in at the stealer for the DME software update. (next monday)
After reading and researching, this seems like a good place to start. The software upgrade will by far be the least expensive thing to try and the only thing I should require a dealer for. If that doesn't resolve the issue, I will continue troubleshooting on my own or with my local indy.
Conveniently, I already had a trip planned to within 5 minutes of the dealership (which is 3 hours from home), I needed a spare key, and they will give me a "free" shuttle ride to my meeting while they update the DME software. I'm also having the Navigation OS updated while there. I have been quoted $160 for the upgrades.
Stand by - I'll let you all know how this shakes out.
