I would consider getting a CPO one. From my CPO purchases in the past, they have paid for themselves and often times the CPO ones are similarly priced as the non CPO ones. It is true, once you hit 70k, the maintenance issues start mounting quickly.

Also, I forgot to mention that just because it's CPO doesn't mean they looked at the car carefully(some dealers are really bad about this). I would ask for their CPO checklist and check over as many items as possible. I would also bring a mechanic to have the car looked over. The ideal situation is to have a little factory warranty left so you have some time to find more problems. That's what I did with my X5 and they made over 7k in repairs in 6 months because I wanted everything right before I was on the extended warranty.
