I used the Extreme Contact DWS on my 330i. Not as good winter traction as some others, but you can get by. For some reason I had better traction with Dunlop SPs, but the ride quality was bad.

The tread life, even wear and overall ride quality on the DWS are excellent. They are also dead quiet, assuming your suspension geometry is set properly and no worn parts. I think they'd be good on a AWD car, but I wouldnt use them again on a RWD. But I'm in MN dealing with frozen roads more than 10-15 times a year.
