HID means High Intensity Discharge, otherwise nown as 'Xenon' lamps as they contain Xenon gas but are actually an arc/plasma lamp. If you have blue white lights which take a few seconds to warm up then you have HID Xenon lamps. Normal lamps use a Tungsten filament in an envelope with a recipe of various Halogen gases and have a yellow colour tint as per the Angel Eye lamp itself. You should also find a warning label of dangerous voltages as HID lamps run at up to 25,000V to start the arc up.
