something along the lines of what rob said before: (i belive the info is in the owners manual.
Owner's Manual - BMW North America)
1. disconnect the battery for 1 minute
2. reconnect the battery, alarm will be blasting for about 45 sec
3. turn key to the second position
4. a 15 minute count down should be activated in display
5. at the end of the 15 min. count down, you should be able to start the X
There may be more detailed instructions in the owners manual.
