ABSOLUTELY.
The DDE software is contnuously running and comparing values, checking limits, etc....something happened to trip a code. Not a 'hard' failure, but a one or two time thing that set the code and the light.
Now, you've started the car and run it a few times, the fault is no longer 'active', so the light goes out- BUT the code was stored.
You want this documented AT THE VERY LEAST. If the tech is good, he will look up the codes and see if BMW has any recommended actions for this- I suspect they will.

PS Hope you have an appt early in the week, if later and they need a sensor, they may not get it until the following week. But given the fact that they are seeing a lot of this, the dealer may have it in stock...not much you can do, just make sure the SA knows you are being actively cool about it and not ignorantly copacetic.
