Agree on the multi-point tie down...fwiw, I have hauled some 4x8' sheets of plywood home, but lower profile, and it was only ~ 8 miles.
Must be a helluva mattress/box spring set to want to cart it that far...
We will need some pics, as in 'weird stuff carried on car roofs, that blow off' style.
