I did not have a good experience with SprintBooster (on my 2008 X5 4.8i). I have a long post about that.

I can say that when I reset my throttle response, the X5 was noticeably responsive and smoother. I think that I probably need to do this annually (I only did after owning the X5 for 4 years).
