So I bought a Curt hitch off of Amazon for $128 with next day shipping. I installed it in a couple of hours following the instructions from BREAD (located
here)
The only thing Bread did not include was how to wire up a trailer connector. I tried to order the whole wiring kit from ECS Tuning, but they were all sold out and back ordered for who knows how long. So I decided to buy my own 7-pin trailer connector (Hopkins part# 411145) and run my own wires to connect to the connector behind the spare tire. Since I do not have the correct connector I used butt splices to connect the wires together inside the trunk.
I DID buy the trailer module from ECS Tuning Mfg Part#61356955253 for $185 next day shipped. And installed that under the spare tire.
I attached my wires to the wires of the trailer connector keeping track of all my colors.
I then ran my wires inside the trunk, routing them to the far right plug. I routed them behind the hitch, above the exhaust heat shield, and into the plug. I used 3/8" split wire loom, to keep everything protected.
I connected the ground from the trailer connector to the chassis.
A picture of what the connector behind the spare tire looks like. I had already cut mine off.
Here is the pinout for the connector in the trunk.
Backup Lights - Yellow w/ BlueGreen Stripe
Tail Lights - Yellow w/ Red Stripe
Left Turn - BlueGreen w/ Red Stripe
Right Turn - BlueGreen w/ Yellow Stripe
Battery Lead - Red w/ Blue Stripe
Ground - Brown (nothing connected since my ground from the trailer connector went to the vehicle chassis)
Electric Brakes - There is no wire for this in the connector, I would have to run a wire from a third party Brake Controller, I do not plan to use one right now.
Here is a picture of my completed connections
Here is everything fully completed. Looks as stock as possible.
