Hi All, We migrated north from the FL Starter Shack last weekend, stopping in Daytona Beach to chase the ball/sleep over with friends, and rolled up to the Mtn Joint on late Saturday. Uneventful drive, other than long, with both of us driving a car, each: no time 'off'.
Both cars loaded to the gunwales, and going as fast as we dared, dodging the cops. The CEO's Hyundai Tucson averaged 26 mpg, while the VetteVert pulled a cool 29.9, over this year's longer 950 mile trip. The Vette is our EconoCar.
We left 89 degrees, (warm to hot winter, even in SW FLA), and staggered into 'mtn cool' Saturday night, at home. Sunday, we woke up to 26 degs F, 45 mph winds, and a coating of snow. WTF?!
We have been home a week, azzholes&elbows doing stuff, unpacking, seeing what needs to be fixed/done, etc. But, great to be home on the Mtn.
A few pics: a cool garter 'semi-pet' garter snake at our friends' home in Daytona Beach, a car load of new Xs chugging up the climbs on I-40 West in NC, just a hour north of the BMW US MotherPlant, (note no enclosed carrier), and some pics of when we got home. While 2 houses are a cool/nice 'change' every year, there are wearing my skinny azz out... thanks for reading, and looking.
