True. Adding any spacers can cause suspension issues, as you are changing the geometry. If you have the incorrect wheel offset, then adding spacers to bring the wheel back to where it should be (where the vehicle designer intended it to be) will actually help with suspension issues. Placing the wheel where it wasn't designed to be relative to the hub loads up suspension components and wheel bearings, and changes the steering geometry by altering the scrub radius. Expect more wear on suspension components and bearings, and changes to the steering response due to the scrub radius dimension. You may or may not wear front tires faster. No appreciable impact on rear tire wear.
