Probably not the cause, but a quick look will show if the tires were mounted properly, with 'outside' facing out on the outer side of rim, and proper rotation direction...
Weird that they ran smoothly for a short time, and then developed noise.
No 'brand' is beyond pumping out a crap tire on occasion, imo.
