You will have to open it eventually anyway. It's easy, just pry under the back edge of the cover with a small screwdriver and the cover lifts up and slides out. What is the 22SY number on the cover? The ads list several of these numbers for the same drive. My bad unit was a CDM-M2 2.3E and 22SY591/23B and it was built in APR.2001. I would think any of the MK3 drives would work and they are probably selling later ones anyway. Are you sure your unit has not been bricked? If so you would need to send it to Wetzler Germany or to Australia for reflashing.
