I know I will need to open it anyways but I was hoping to figure out the exact replacement cost since that greatly affects my decision of whether it's even worth fixing. Essentially if I have to spend $250 to replace my MK3 drive I'd have to really think about whether that money would be better put towards a Dynavin instead. If I could get a replacement drive for $100 or so I would think about it but ironically it seems the MK3 drives are much more costly than the MK4 ones.
My unit isn't bricked since it still works part of the time. But most of the time if I put a map disk in I get a read error on the disc so either the motor or laser is going bad.
