Battery box anti-flooding ideas

Since we have more and more bad weather, heavy rain etc, I was a bit nervous that one sunroof drain or hatchback door seal let water go inside the battery box and flood all that expensive electronic equipment.

I tought that making like 2 holes in the bottom of the box, and install some drain extension to keep debris and water from under the X to go inside would be a good prevention.
I was looking for something like #21 in this diagram:

It should work fine for all situations, exept one; when there is standing water that is higher than the bottom of the box, then water could enter via that drain tube.

I know that this situation doesn't happen very often, but I would prefer to be 100% protected.

I know some anti-flood valves exist for the house, but they are bulky.

Does anyone have seen some miniature anti flood valves that could be fitted there?

If I don't find one, I think I will just use those drain tubes. The odds are bigger to have a leaking sunroof or tailgate, than having to cross a +2' deep flood.
