This year, we bought our 41lb 8 yr old girl one of these. It has a reclining head rest and still uses the LATCH system to attach. It's good to 12 years and something like 100lbs. We bought at albeebaby.com though I don't see they carry them any more.

She's so tiny that I joke with her she'll take it on her first date.
