I was assuming the reason he is deflated is due to a bad bag, so leaving it flat for a few days wouldn't matter much as far as having it crack further.
I didn't find the airbag replacement to be a problem at all. In fact it's super easy. If you have already gone through the trouble of removing the wheel, tire, and strut assembly, swapping out the bag only takes about 5 more minutes. The instruction sheet from Arnott is very detailed with pictures and can be downloaded/viewed on their site.
