Please Help! Check Engine Light on, 07 X5

Hey guys,

I've been on this forum for years, but mainly have been just a lurker.

I have a 2007 X5 4.8. It currently has 48k miles.

This car has been treating me well, always maintained at BMW and has never given me issues, until today.

When I was driving the car today, it was acting kind of weird. The RPMs were kind of jumpy but only if I were to start the car or when I would be braking and almost at a full stop (and a few times when I would hit the gas and let go, the rpms would jump a bit too).

For a while, there were no malfunctions or lights that turned on. When I parked my car and came back to it about 30-40 min later and started it, there was a check engine light on.

When I ran the codes, I got 4 codes. 3/4 were for the Camshaft position sensor and the 4th code was P1030 which I didn't really understand what it was. From what I researched online, it sounds like a valvetronic sensor/motor or variable valve timing.

However, I reset the light. Restarted the car, few seconds later, the check engine light came on again and it was only showing one code, P0392 which is for the CPS. But the car is still acting weird with the RPMs being kind of jumpy.

Anyone know what the issue might be?

Any help or advice will be apreciated!
