I think that Apple, and Microsoft before it, are easy targets. They are big and they have money. I'm not commenting on whether Apple is right or wrong in this case. Maybe Apple is particularly sensitive given the $60,000,000 settlement in China. Sure it's what Apple has rattling around in its ashtray but it's still alot of money and bad PR.

As an aside, I love Italy as a beautiful country to visit but their government is a racket. Fines, fees, and taxes are outrageous. Google "tourist rental car fines" and see one common racket that must net cities beaucoup bucks.
