Fine to do that. HWOEVER, also check the alignment. DO NOT rely on "just whatever the BMW spec is"...SET the toe to 0.02 (0.01 to 0.03)... any decent tire store can do this.

BMW has a wide spec on toe and many fast wear issues are due to the toe being on the upper range of their spec.
