I know how it looks, but they're fine... He doesn't do any crazy driving when the car is on that setup (low & slow on the streets). I've ran multiple stretched tires setups on my E46 with no problems.... and yes you can still drive it hard in the twisties.

I think it comes down to making sure the tires are seated properly from the beginning and monitoring the tire pressure regularly. When people drive on them with too low of a tire pressure, that's when there's a problem.
