Similar issue with my '06 4.8is. Both engine and transmission needed a software update and I've not experienced the issue again. I'm a bit skeptical but the proof's been in the driving so far. So, my suggestion is check and update your software, I thought it would be a good idea for me even if I ended up replacing the mechatronics unit and or TC. Good luck.
