I am happy to report the problem was solved by removing the fuses and resetting the unit as per Slick's suggestion. Just in case someone has the same trouble heres what to do: open your glovebox. on the roof of the glove box is a fusebox, there are tabs on either side, push those in and the panel folds down revealing a rather sizable fuse box. Remove fuse #7. Now got to the boot or trunk as we say in USA. On the right side there is a compartment that can be removed very easily, look inside and at the top there is a smaller fuse box. Remove fuses 72,73,74,75. Wait 5 to 10 minutes, put all fuses back in the order they were taken out. Turn your garden hose on, spray a healthy stream directly in the air and stand under it with your face pointed upwards. Start your X and the radio should be working fine.
