Sure there are many other phones that one can buy but to switch because
of a different connector wouldn't make sense. After all there will be an adaptor.

I have invested alot of money in iPhone attachments, it will p..s me off if I have to throw them all out and start again. And another thing you will have to run two sets of adaptors in the house, one for all your iPod & iPad's etc and another set for your iPone 5, that's just stupid, your benches will be full of power supplies & leads.
If Apple was half smart they would leave the connector there and add an extra micro usb port.
