thank you for this information. however, the OP has a X5, and not a 540i. The location of that dsc module is not the same location. And furthermore, if your ground point is loose on that side, most likely the car was in an accident, and would have some exterior lights flickering, and possibly a check engine lamp on for secondary air faults.
