Killcrap nailed it. The level sensor is not tight enough around the lower control arm. The existing bracket can’t keep it in place. I guess I need a new bracket to keep the arm at 90 degree. To me it is a very poor design. There is no set location for the bracket to sit in. It is mounted on a circular lower control arm. So, it can be turned easily.

I attached a PDF file from the RealOEM. The bracket on item 14 is the issue.

I was wondering if anyone could take a picture of the level sensor and post it. I like to see how it is on another X5.

there is a notch on the subframe where a dimple on the bracket will rest to align the sensor. not a poor design. i would question whoever works on your car.
