What you need to do is the following:
1. Fill out the Car/Key Form and have the option programmed at the dealer
2. Use key #1 to open door, adjust seats, mirrors, steering wheels, A/C, etc.
3. Push M button on seat, then push one of the memory buttons
4. Close door with key #1
5. Use key #2 to open door, blah blah (repeat steps 2 to 4 above)
6. After you push M button for key #2, select a different memory button than the one you used in step #3
When you are done, each key should memorize the settings in your X5. For the Car/Key memory option, have the dealer activate the "Driver's Seat Position Memory" option (see form here:
