have you confirmed the factory fill isn't a break in oil? Lot's of MFGR these days (even Subaru) use a special oil loaded up w/ HIGH levels of moly and/or other special lubricants for the break in period (see Bimmerfest - BMW Forums - View Single Post - Break In Oil Change)



On the M models that break in period is more than just oil, they also do some ECU magic as well (that enables launch control, etc). Just because your car isn't a M, doesn't mean it has a regular FF.
