there's a lot of things you can learned on this site,if your willing to learned basics staff regarding inspection and maintenance it's better you do it rather than to pay the dealer plus you can buy inspection tools or you can check the site how to reset it.Our x5 is fun to maintain if you have time and willing to learn.Some of this maintenance are easy and fun to do.There are right the dealer are not religious on some of the inspection stated on the inspection chart.So if you start to do some maintenance you can save a lot of money and I thing your dad will be happy if you can maintain your own X5.Good luck...Ask me how some of the mechanic inside the dealer do there job??????
