Sorry to hear... if you want US to give you feedback on the issue- what it means, the odds they fix it right the first time- you need to get actual fault codes and part names. The SAs really dont want you to know, they really could care less, so they just rattle off words hoping you are intimidated and wont ask any more. OTOH, if you are cool with just seeing what happens, then that's OK too.
Yes, you are 'out of luck'...they will not be crediting you with a months worth of lease payments, etc, etc..it is only one week. (For example the new F10 M5 was hit with a 2,3,4 week 'do not drive/recall' order. People are getting one month lease payment plus a day of M school...but that's an M5 and this was a major black eye for BMWAG... not a one-off on a measly X5)
Do keep in mind that they have 30 days in california- any time over the next 4 years if they exceed 30 days TOTAL out of service, you can lemon it. And if the ultimate issue is in any way related to this 'feed line', they must use the mileage at the time the event first occurred to compute your refund, so 99+% for you. Just FYI, I have no doubt this is a weird 'infant mortality' thing with yours.
