Seriously? The trans doesn't even have to come out to fix that? Seems like most other BMWs, there's zero access to the trans from the top. I had to rebuild the linkage on my e28 when I first got it, and had to pull the exhaust and driveshaft for that.
If you could provide a link for more info on that fix, I'd be forever grateful!
