Thank you kind sir! That solved the problem.

The stupid thing is that I originally bought the sensor when I bought the pads at BMW, but late last night, while trying to save time, I figured I didn't need to replace it (the service tech at BMW told me I don't HAVE to replace it unless I break it while removing it, so I bought it just in case). I replaced it this morning and viola, computer was able to reset.
