Independent shop -- Talk with Doug Paddock, the owner of Paddock Imports in Denver. They know BMWs well and Doug will spend all the time you want chatting and will answer all the questions you have as you vet them. You may quickly get comfortable with their capabilities and ethics, as I did. I just started using Paddock.
Dealer - Schomp BMW in Highlands Ranch. PM me if you want my service advisor contact. I've used them for 8 years. I've found them to be cheaper, more capable, and a better overall experience than Murray (the only other Denver area dealer). Some of their services might rival independents in terms of price and their capabilities are top notch. They will get it right and of course you'll get a loaner car to get around in the meantime.
Or we could wrench in my garage if you are stuck somewhere. :-)
